Sunflower 1970's
This necklace was named "sunflower" in my sketch book from 1974 when I started a jewelry class in high school. At that time the only thing I had to hammer on was a rail tie my dad had finished for me. I had one hammer and no real knowledge of how to make it. I played with hammering wire and want on to the next project at that time. So the design got lost till this summer.
I had forgotten the wonderful sound of hammering metal plus the smell that it created as the metal heats up with each hammer stroke.
Things you forget with time all come back when you start to work on something you love to do.
